At the direction of the Florida Legislature, the CCOC supports the Clerks of Court in the 67 counties in the State of Florida by reviewing and certifying court-related proposed budgets under the oversight of the Florida Legislature, the Governor, the Chief Financial Officer, and the Department of Revenue.

These activities are consistent with the Revision 7 of Article V of the Florida Constitution. Sections 28.35 and 28.36, Florida Statutes describes the duties of the CCOC.
